Field Marshal
Submited March 2002

I work as a Dolly - Grip and a doorway - dolly is a good and inexpensive way to create smooth movement. Just secure the camera properly and off you go. I even once used a bicycle to replace a Dolly, because it was very tight and the DIRECTOR wanted a tracking shot. I assured the DP that I can make it work. I was at the end and another Grip assisted me at the front and with some padding to comfort the DP, off we went. It looked quite funny but we got the scene done and the DP was really surprised at the results.

Or a shopping cart. Bag the lower part of it. The surface must be in this case very even and smooth. It works great on office carpets. With the DP in it and the weight of the camera the wheels perform just fine. Everything is possible. I hope I was of help.
